The academic center for Dutch language and culture
The House of the Netherlands in Münster is a historical and academic center with a rich history and a unique focus on the Dutch language and culture. Language trainer Annelie Poker, who specializes in assisting doctors and dentists in learning Dutch, completed her studies at this special institution in 2013.
The building, known as the House of the Netherlands, plays an important role in history. In 1648, the peace treaty between Spain and the Republic of the Seven United Netherlands was signed here, bringing the Eighty Years' War to an end. This historical moment makes the building not only an academic, but also a cultural and historical site of great significance.
Since 1995, the House of the Netherlands has been located in this iconic building in Münster. Run by Belgian and Dutch academics, the center offers training and research opportunities in Dutch linguistics, translation and literature. Students from all over Europe gather here to better understand and study the Dutch language and culture.
The House of the Netherlands combines historical value with academic excellence. It is not only a place where the Dutch language is taught, but also a source of inspiration for anyone interested in the rich history and cultural heritage of the Netherlands and Belgium.
